How do I calculate a percentage of a number?
Divide the percentage by 100 and multiply by the number. For example, 15% of 500 is (15 ÷ 100) × 500 = 75. The calculator does this instantly and shows the steps.
How do I find what percent one number is of another?
Divide the part by the whole and multiply by 100. For example, 20 of 50 apples is (20 ÷ 50) × 100 = 40%.
What is the fastest way to calculate 10% of any number?
Move the decimal point one place to the left: 10% of 245 is 24.5. From there you can build other percentages — 5% is half of that, 20% is double.
